Under the direction of Matthew Brooks, director of orchestras at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, the musicians in the Nebraska Medical Orchestra practice for a couple of hours each Wednesday and have presented several concerts. The orchestra’s lineup includes works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Gabriel Fauré and Johann Sebastian Bach, three heavy-hitters of the classical world, among other composers.
Music and camaraderie are only one reason behind the orchestra’s creation. It also has health benefits.
