An Interview with Daniel Elder

on

On April 25, 2013 we welcomed Alec Harris from GIA Publications to our Pennsylvania office.  Alec presented GIA’s new choral releases, which included two new compositions by a talented young composer, Daniel Elder.

We did a little research and found that Mr. Elder’s Ballade to the Moon, which had been published in 2011, was selling very well and also appeared on some festival lists.  After reviewing his new works, The Heart’s Reflection and Lullaby, we decided to feature them in our choral catalog, and we invited him to our office for a video interview.  We all enjoyed meeting Daniel and hearing him speak about his musical background, his current work, and possible new directions his writing might take in the future.
